Kisai (Key-Sigh-Eee) Henriquez is a Domini-Rican queer femme born, raised and currently living & working on occupied Yelamu, Ramaytush Ohlone territory which is also known by it's colonized name San Francisco. Kisai is community made. Kisai participated in several youth development programs, attended alternative education programs & SFUSD schools while growing up in the city. One of the many programs Kisai accessed as a youth struggling for purpose and belonging was San Francisco Community Assessment & Referral Center (CARC). Kisai graduated high school from Life Learning Academy and eventually earned her B.A. in Child & Adolescent Development from SF State University. Throughout her career Kisai remained working in youth development and after a decade of supporting young people and their families, Kisai earned her Master’s of Social Work at San Jose State University. She has held roles establishing youth development & youth justice programs, providing direct services as an outreach worker, case manager, coordinator, therapist and a program manager. Kisai currently serves as the Division Director of Youth Justice with Huckleberry Youth Programs where she oversees the agency's youth justice programming. She is the founder of Comm(UNITY) a mobile & collaborative space centering wellness, healing joy, & community building for those who work in service of their community. Kisai co-founded Root to Bloom, a 7 month training program for community based service providers to develop skills for self healing & transformation. Kisai became a mother in 2023 and is raising a fiery loving human.
She strives to be a social worker that empowers, fosters & plants seeds for hope, healing and transformation within individuals, groups, and communities.
